Marco Vincenzi is 2024 Provincial Champion!

The 2024 Modena Provincial Championship ended yesterday, valid as a Round of 16 of the 84th Italian Absolute Championship and, as usual, dedicated to the memory of our member and friend Mario Viola, this year on the tenth anniversary of his passing.
The tournament saw the participation of 32 players and crowned CN Marco Vincenzi provincial champion, who with 4.5 points out of 5 added a seventh laurel to those already won in 2005, 2008, 2012, 2015, 2022 and 2023, and was the first player to win the title three times in a row.
In second place 3N Alessandro Togni (4.0/5), followed by 1N Alessandro Rubini (4.0/5) and CN Walter Paoli (4.0/5).
Of exceptional note was the board performance of Alessandro Togni, who recorded an Elo coefficient of no less than 3.33.
The following players qualified for the 2024 Emilia-Romagna Regional Championship: Alessandro Togni, Andrea Boasso, Marco Vaccari, Roberto Landi, Alessandro Vasta and Claudio Gigli.
