Francesco Ferraguti wins the 1st DIEF Chess Tournament!

Good success for the first Chess Tournament at the "Enzo Ferrari" Department of Engineering (DIEF), which recorded the presence of no fewer than 16 players among UniMORE students and lecturers, including several strong online players who tried their hand for the first time at over-the-board rapid play. The tournament was won by CN Francesco Ferraguti, fresh from victory at the National University Championships with the CUS UniMORE team, who finishes with the commanding result of 8 points out of 8, followed by 2N Marco Vaccari (7/8), Andrea Cavaletti (5/8) and Davide Mecugni (5/8). We thank the DIEF sports delegate Prof. Mattia Borgarino for his efforts in the organisation and arbiter Lorenzo Rosa for running the tournament. Club 64 thanks CUS UniMORE and DIEF for their collaboration and for making the premises available, and will see you at the next events, which will be organised as early as this autumn thanks to the collaboration with the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
