Olga Zimina is crowned 2022 Italian Champion!
The 2022 Italian Women's Championship has ended, with the outstanding victory of our IM Olga Zimina, undefeated on 6.5 points out of 7, ahead of IM Marina Brunello (5.5/7), CM Melissa Maione (4/7) and CM Elisa Cassi (3.5/7). Club 64 congratulates Olga on another prestigious result that confirms her victories in 2017 and 2020, and once again projects her to the highest national and international levels. CM Melissa Maione of the Fischer Chieti club finished first among the Under 20s and third overall. The title of 2022 Italian Absolute Champion went to GM Luca Moroni of the Scacchistica Cerianese club of Ceriano Laghetto (MB), undefeated on 8.5 points out of 11, while the winner in the Under 20 category was FM Gabriele Lumachi of the Centro Etna Scacchi club of Aci Castello (CT), also undefeated on 5.5 points out of 7.
