The prestigious "Paolo Bertellini" award goes to Fabrizio Frigieri

The whole Club 64 warmly congratulates Fabrizio Frigieri, who has been honoured with the prestigious "Paolo Bertellini" award, given annually by the Salsomaggiore Terme club.
Now in its twenty-eighth edition, the award is conferred on a chess player from the Region who has distinguished himself for chess merits at regional or national level.
Bertellini was a founding member and first president of the Salso club in 1975 and, with intense dedication, was its driving force and promoter at national and international levels, until his untimely death in 1988.
Since then, the award named after him has honoured the most important and well-known figures of Italian chess: from the unforgettable doyen Enrico Paoli, who recently passed away at 97, to the standard-bearer of Italian chess in the world, Grandmaster Sergio Mariotti, to Giovanni Ferrantes, Alvise Zichichi, Rita Gramignani and many others.
