Free chess lessons “Checkmate to marginalisation and prejudice”
The chess tournament on 1 September will be preceded by three sessions scheduled on Monday 26, Wednesday 28 and Friday 30 August, from 16:00 to 18:00, in which Cosimo Damiano Ballestri, federal chess instructor and member of the Leo Club Vignola Domini Estensi, will hold free chess lessons, together with the young people of the Leo Club, dedicated to people with disabilities and to anyone who wishes to take part, to promote everyone's logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
The Associazione Magicamente Liberi has long been concretely committed to the “Chiosco delle Bocce” initiative, which saw this group of special people put themselves to the test by successfully running a “Baracchina” at the Parco delle Bocce in Marano sul Panaro, increasing the participants' work independence and self-esteem. All this was made possible thanks to the sensitivity of the administration of the Municipality of Marano, the tenacity of the volunteers and parents of Magicamente Liberi and the collaboration of the ASP (Azienda per i servizi alla persona), the Unione Terre di Castelli and the CSV (Centro servizi per il volontariato).
