European Club Cup 2019: WorldTradingLab Club 64 loses a hard-fought fourth round
WorldTradingLab Club 64 comes out narrowly defeated 3.5 to 2.5 in the fourth round from the difficult match against Primorsky District of Saint Petersburg. As captain FM Gabriele Franchini reports, the Modena team fought with no holds barred from the first board to the last, showing strong character and an excellent level of play. A mature performance by our FMs on boards five and six, who drew comfortably against the highly rated Russian GMs, and a superb win against the champion of Russia GM Evgeny Alekseev by GM Pier Luigi Basso, heading towards the 2600 mark. The individual results are: Sjugirov-Berkes 1-0, Basso-Alekseev 1-0, Rakhmanov-Lopez 1-0, Stella-Kokarev 1/2-1/2, Rozum-Barp 1/2-1/2, Seresin-Sychev 1/2-1/2. In the women's tournament, Caissa Pentole Agnelli loses 3 to 1 the match against the Georgians of Nona.
