2019 Student Team Chess Championships

Excellent results achieved by some of the Club 64 youngsters at the Student Team Chess Championships, on Sunday 7 April 2019 in Ferrara

Among the 49 teams and over 200 students who took part in the tournaments scheduled in the categories: Primary Mixed and Girls, Lower Secondary (Ragazzi and Cadetti) Mixed and Girls, Upper Secondary (Allievi and Juniores) Mixed and Girls:

- the Fermi of Modena team, made up of Luca Ballotti, Luca Astolfi, Pietro Allesina, Davide Mecugni, wins the title of Regional Champion, playing 6 rounds of 30 minutes each and winning every game in the tournament for Allievi Mixed, Allievi Girls (Upper Secondary, 1st, 2nd, 3rd year) and Juniores Mixed (4th and 5th year) teams

- the De Amicis of Pavullo team, made up of Giulia Gabriella Galli, Leonardo Bonucchi, Matteo Ricci, Federico Figurelli, wins the title of Regional Runner-up in the Primary School Mixed team tournament

- the Ferraris of Modena team, made up of Matteo Ballotti, Silvia Giuntini, Leonardo Succi Higen, takes the bronze medal, playing the scheduled 5 rounds with only 3 players compared to the 4 of the opposing teams, and finishing the tournament level on points with the Regional Runner-up team of the Ragazzi Mixed and Ragazzi Girls tournament (Lower Secondary - 1st year).

All the teams qualified for the National final of the student team chess tournament, which will take place in Policoro (Matera) from 9 to 12 May 2019.

Club 64's congratulations go to all our players fielded by the Fermi and Ferraris schools of Modena and De Amicis of Pavullo!
