Chess in the family
On Saturday 17 February 2018 in Modena at the #club64 premises in via Wiligelmo, 72, starting at 15:00, the first family team tournament will be held, i.e. teams made up of a minimum of 3 players belonging to the same family.
Teams may be formed by any family member: grandparents, parents, uncles and aunts, cousins etc... you can go wild putting together technical teams, and it will be an excellent opportunity to bring along to play the companions who usually just watch.
The tournament will have 5 rounds of play at 12' + 3''.
The registration fee for each team is only 15 euros, which becomes 10 if one of the players is not an FSI member, so as to encourage all those parents who normally don't get involved.
It will be a cross-generational chess party to promote the noble game within our families; all players, including those from other provinces, who want to spend Saturday afternoon with us are invited to the tournament.
At the end of the event, with the registration money we will get pizza by the metre and drinks to have dinner all together.
For those who are unable to play because they are chess orphans or because their parents work etc.., there is the possibility of being adopted by a family, provided that at least one adult member of that family plays and subject to consultation with the organisers.
Moreover, in order to subvert every chess rule normally applied, the team that finishes last will be awarded the "maglia nera" prize, consisting of a basket of food products.
