2nd Scacchi e Salsiccia tournament concluded
The 2nd Scacchi e Salsiccia tournament organised by #club64 took place on Sunday at Villa Tartaruga. 48 players battled it out pawn by pawn to spend a day of leisure together, interspersed with a pleasant self-run barbecue.
200 chupa chups, 250 sausages, 33 baguettes, 150 cans of beer, a bottle of amaro del capo and an uninteresting number of bottles of water, plus a lawn, tables and chessboards, were the raw materials strictly necessary for it to happen.
Thanks are due to Adriano Verrelli, Erika Esposito, Fabrizio Frigieri, Gianmarco Marinelli, Graziano Ballista, Lorenzo Formisano, Marcos Vergara, Massimiliano Pacchioni, Paolo De Biaggi and Sara Franceschi, without whose effort it would not have been possible, never mind to hold, but even to think of organising the second edition of the tournament.
This year #club64 decided to make the tournament completely free for all U8s to encourage children's attendance and weigh less on the pockets of the families without whom the children could not take part. Everyone will be pleased to know that despite the modest price the Club raised 250 euros net of expenses from the initiative, which it will use to spread the game of chess.
