Third CERG stage held in Carpi

The third stage of the C.E.R.G. in Carpi took place on Sunday 4 December, involving 71 players: 25 in the Emergenti category, 28 in the Talenti category and 18 in the Open category. The entrants faced each other in their respective tournaments over 6 rounds of 15 minutes each, at the end of which the winners were, for the Emergenti category, Matteo Albericci, Alessio Santoro and Ottavio Mammi; for the Talenti category, Anastasia Sfera, Simone Santoro and Olmo Marchi; and for the Open category, Walter Maran, Vincenzo Magagnini and Augusto Caloia. Heartfelt thanks to FIDE Master Gabriele Franchini and Candidate Master Sergio Garofalo, whose presence raised the level of the "Open" tournament and brought about an increase in participation. The following helped to run the tournament: Paolo De Biaggi, Gaia Marchi, Deborah Mistroni, Enzo Molinari, Antonio Sfera, Mattia Sfera and Marcos Vergara. We look forward to seeing you in the new year in Cavezzo for the 4th C.E.R.G. stage on 22 January, and we take this opportunity to announce that, by popular demand, the stage of 12 February in Albareto has been added to the 2017 circuit.
