Super Sofia Marinelli at the Arzachena tournament
A great showing by the very young Sofia Marinelli (born 2005) at the "Città di Arzachena" tournament (Sardinia), held from 22 to 25 April. An almost Candidate Master-level performance by Sofia, who, starting as number 85 in the starting ranking, finished in 22nd place, climbing no fewer than 63 places (!!!). With this tournament Sofia also gained 80 Elo points. Congratulations also to her mother Olga Zimina, sixth in the final standings, behind players of international level such as GM Djuric, IM Genocchio and WGM Fierro Baquero.
