Luciani and Sarti triumph at the Maranello Tandem Blitz

A great success for the first edition of the Maranello Tandem Blitz, played at the Villa di Là agriturismo. A total of 24 teams were present, including quite a few players of master level and many youth teams. The setting of the Villa di Là agriturismo and the team tournament format certainly contributed to the full success of the event. 23 round-robin rounds were played. The first edition of the Maranello Tandem Blitz was won by the Sarti-Robot team, made up of FM Valerio Luciani and 2N Paolo Sarti, who totalled 40 points out of 46. Second and third, level on points, were Komarov Fan Club (second on S-B), made up of Ballista and Fuochi, and i Bradipi, made up of Antonio Lapenna and Emilio Cassanelli. Band B was won by the San Fermo team (Goldoni - Favini). Band C was won by Quella Cavalla Lì (Viola - Orlandi). First among the many under 16 teams present was The Champions (Enrico Giuntini - Dario Vergara). Sincere thanks to the Villa di Là agriturismo for hosting the tournament, to chief arbiter Graziano Ballista, to helpers Angelo Mancini and Eva Ballista and to organiser Marco Benincasa.
