Lampi Estivi 2016: Frigieri wins the last stage, Lapenna circuit winner

Candidate Master Fabrizio Frigieri won, with 8 points out of 10, the twelfth and final stage of the 2016 Lampi Estivi, held in Modena. Excellent overall participation, with the presence of 26 players in total, including many under 16s and players of master level. Second was Master Antonio Lapenna with 7.5 points out of 10 and third on tie-break 1N Michelangelo Lapenna (6.5 points). Master Antonio Lapenna is confirmed as circuit champion, dominating the 2016 edition and finishing the overall standings with 68.5 points (an average score of 8.39 per stage). Second overall in the circuit was Master Luca Barillaro, who finished with 57 points in total. We remind you that the final standings were calculated on the best 8 tournaments out of the 12 scheduled. Also awarded prizes on the final evening were CM Marco Vincenzi (winner of the 2000-2200 band), CM Marco Benincasa (winner of the 1800-2000 band), 1N Vincenzo Magagnini (winner of the 1600-1800 band), 1N Walter Maran (winner of the 1450-1600 band) and Alessandro Angeli (winner of the band below 1450 points). Special prizes in kind for the 3 stalwarts who played all 12 stages of the circuit: Marco Benincasa, Walter Maran and Vincenzo Magagnini.
