WG Zimina wins the 8th blitz stage ahead of GM Djuric
A very high level at the eighth stage of the 2015 Lampi Estivi, which recorded the remarkable number of 26 participants, including no fewer than two Grandmasters! The home WGM Olga Zimina and in particular GM Stefan Djuric enriched the stage, raising the bar of the circuit's level of play even further. In all, no fewer than 11 of the 26 players were of master level. Also present were many youngsters, playing their last training games ahead of the imminent youth championships in Montesilvano. The tournament was won by Woman Grandmaster Olga Zimina, who finished with 8 points out of 10. Second was the guest of honour, Grandmaster Stefan Djuric from Ferrara (with 7.5 points). The podium was completed by the third titled player present, FIDE Master Gabriele Franchini (also with 7.5 points). We look forward to seeing many of you at the ninth event on Thursday 2 July.
