FM Andrea Cocchi wins the Crevalcore rapid tournament

FIDE Master Andrea Cocchi from Bologna won on tie-break, with 8 points out of 9, the first edition of the "Città di Crevalcore" Rapid tournament. The podium was completed by WGM Olga Zimina (8) and FM Gabriele Franchini (7). Good overall participation, with 40 players at the start coming from various parts of northern Italy. The playing venue set up outdoors was charming and pleasant, and certainly helped the players cope with the summer weather. Thanks and the most sincere congratulations to the organiser and promoter of the tournament, Giancarlo Minelli, who worked successfully and with commitment for several months for the full success of the event. The sports councillor of the municipality of Crevalcore attended the start of the tournament and the prize-giving ceremony.
