2016 CERG standings after the first 4 stages

On Sunday 20 December the fourth 2016 stage of the CERG youth circuit took place in San Damaso. This Christmas stage (with free entry and prizes for all participants) recorded a record that will be hard to beat: a total of no fewer than 143 (!!!) young chess players present at the tournament (116 young Emergenti and 27 young Talenti). Among the Emergenti, this memorable tournament was won by Olmo Marchi with 6 points out of 6, ahead of Matteo Garavini (5.5) and Michael Mottaran (5.5). The young Talenti tournament was won on tie-break by Dionis Hodo with 5 points out of 6, ahead of Roberto Mocanu (5) and Leonardo Carlino (5). Sincere thanks to the many friends, volunteers and collaborators who made this unforgettable tournament possible and to the San Damaso multi-purpose hall.
