The Palestrina school wins the 2014 CGS Regional
On Sunday 13 April the Emilia-Romagna regional stage of the 2014 Student Youth Chess Championship took place in Ferrara. 19 Institutes took part, representing 5 provinces. Among the qualified teams, standing out with a perfect score in the "Primary, boys or mixed" category with 12 points (21 individual wins and 3 losses), was the team of the Palestrina Primary School of Modena (X Circolo Didattico of Modena), made up of Luca Ballotti, Dionis Hodo, Enrico Giuntini, Simone Santoro, Roberto Mocanu, Pasquale Montuori and the mascot Matteo Ballotti. The win qualifies the Palestrina school for the national stage of the Student Youth Championship, which will be held in Città del Mare, Terrasini (Palermo) between 22 and 24 May 2014. The event, excellently organised by the Circolo Scacchi Estense of Ferrara (thanks also to the beautiful spring day), also turned out to be a moment of celebration for all the children from the Emilia-Romagna schools.
