Pacchioni and Ballotti L. the winners of the Modena CERG

The traditional youth tournament dedicated to the memory of the Modena Master Franco Bussi, valid as the fifth event of the Modena provincial CERG circuit, was held on Saturday 1 March in Modena. The event's participation record was beaten, with 89 young Emergenti and 13 young Talenti at the start, for a total of 102 participants in the tournament. Sincere thanks to arbiters Antonio Sfera and Graziano Ballista and to collaborators Luciano Panini, Ezio Molinari, Mattia Sfera, Luigi Di Trapani, Gian Marco Marinelli and Olga Zimina, who took care of and managed the arbiting and organisational side of the tournament in the best possible way. Among the Emergenti, Matteo Pacchioni wins the tournament with 6 points out of 6, ahead of Roberto Mocanu (5.5) and Enrico Giuntini (5). Luca Ballotti wins the young Talenti tournament with 5.5 points out of 6; second Anastasia Sfera (5) and third Jacopo Lancellotti (4). The Palestrina institute of Modena wins the special schools standings. The overall standings after the first 5 tournaments will shortly be available on the CERG page of the website.
