Master Lapenna wins the 11th stage of the 2014 Lampi Estivi

The eleventh stage of the 2014 Lampi Estivi, held in Sassuolo, recorded a total of 17 participants, no fewer than 7 of them of master level. The tournament was won by Master Antonio Lapenna, who finished with a perfect score of 10 points out of 10. Second was FIDE Master Valerio Luciani from Verona (9) and third Master Giuseppe Coratella from Verona (7). Gabriele Franchini won the 2000-2200 band, Massimiliano Ballista the 1800-2000 band, Antonio Fiore the 1600-1800 band, Francesco Tomei the 1450-1600 band and Maletti Pier Giulio the band below 1450. For the overall victory in the circuit, the dominant player of the 2014 edition, Master Antonio Lapenna, is by now out of reach. The battle for second place overall and for some of the band prizes is still open, and the final stage in Modena will be decisive for them.
