Mancini, Ballista and Wang 2014 U16 regional champions
At the under-16 regional championship, held in Ferrara on 1 May, three young chess players became regional champions in their respective categories. Anna Mancini became regional champion in the girls' U16 category, Massimiliano Ballista in the boys' U16 (winning the tournament outright with 5 points out of 5) and Cesare Wang took the title in the boys' U12 (winning the category tournament, with 29 participants in total, scoring 5.5 points out of 6). Many other Club 64 youngsters played an excellent tournament, earning their ticket to the national final in Tarvisio from 28 June to 5 July. Congratulations to the new regional champions and to all those who qualified for the national grand finals.
