Hodo Dionis and Santoro the winners of the Vignola CERG

The traditional CERG youth tournament, valid as the eighth and last event of the 2014 Modena provincial circuit, was held on Sunday 25 May in Vignola. In total 61 young chess players were present at the tournament (44 young Emergenti and 17 young Talenti). Among the Emergenti, Simone Santoro wins the tournament with 5.5 points out of 6, ahead of Pasquale Montuori (5) and Kelvin Frimpong (5). Dionis Hodo wins the young Talenti tournament with 5 points out of 6, ahead on tie-break of Michele Melotti (5) and Francesco Cioni (4.5). At the end of the tournament the final prize-giving of the 2014 CERG was also held, crowning Francesco Cioni among the Talenti and Enrico Giuntini among the Emergenti as overall champions of the circuit. The Palestrina school dominated the special standings for schools. The final schools and individual standings of the 2014 circuit will shortly be published on the CERG page of the website.
