Giuntini and Carlino the winners of the Marano CERG

The fourth CERG 2014 event of the Modena provincial circuit was held on Sunday 18 February in Marano sul Panaro. Record numbers for this stage: in all 88 young Emergenti and 19 young Talenti at the starting line, for a total of no fewer than 107 participants in the tournament. Sincere thanks to our friend and instructor Carlo Alberto Cavazzoni, who contributed to the great success of the event by steering many of his pupils to the tournament and personally helping the organising staff. Thanks for the excellent running of the tournament also to arbiters Graziano Ballista and Antonio Sfera of Club 64 and to Enzo Molinari of Lolli Cavezzo, as well of course as to the Club 64 staff made up of Gian Marco Marinelli, Olga Zimina, Mattia Sfera, Eva and Massimiliano Ballista. Among the Emergenti, Enrico Giuntini wins the tournament on tie-break with 5.5 points out of 6, ahead of Simone Santoro (5.5) and Andrea Zanasi (5). Leonardo Carlino wins the young Talenti tournament with 5 points out of 6; second Francesco Cioni (4.5) and third Luca Ballotti (4.5). The Palestrina institute of Modena wins the special schools standings. The Councillor for Sport of the Municipality of Marano also attended the prize-giving ceremony, and underlined the excellent running of the event and the great success in terms of participation.
