The first CERG 2014 event held in Guiglia

The 2014 CERG provincial circuit began last Saturday 19 October with the first event at the Castle of Guiglia. A total of 24 young chess players took part in the tournament: 13 among the Emergenti and 11 among the Talenti. Alessandro Lipari of the Magreta school wins the Emergenti tournament on tie-break, ahead of Enrico Giuntini of the Palestrina schools. Among the young Talenti too the tournament was hard fought, and in the end Francesco Cioni prevailed with 5.5 out of 6, on tie-break over Michele Melotti.
