The 2013 Bertellini Prize goes to Marco Borsari
During the prize-giving of the Salsomaggiore Festival, the customary conferral of the "Premio Bertellini" took place, awarded each year to a person who has distinguished themselves in spreading and promoting the game of chess. This year the prestigious award went to our friend Marco Borsari, who as everyone knows led Club 64 for the 10 years from 1999 to 2009 and the ER Regional Committee for the 8 years from 2005 to the end of 2012. The prize bears witness to the commitment and the great results achieved by Marco in developing the Emilia-Romagna chess movement in recent years. In 2011 the same award was received by Mauro Benetti, a historic figure on the regional and national chess scene, who still contributes to the growth of the movement with his commitment today. In receiving the prize and thanking Roberto Cavalca, Marco stressed the importance of youth activity and appealed to all those who can make a practical contribution to supporting the movement. Congratulations to Marco on the richly deserved award!
