Modena's Tassoni 6th at the CGS national finals
From Thursday 16 to Sunday 19 May Montecatini Terme hosted the national final of the Student Sports Games for chess, a team event for schools under the patronage of CONI and MIUR. The event recorded the participation of no fewer than 276 teams (69 primary, 74 middle school, 68 allievi and 65 juniores) and over 1300 boys and girls, for the first time in the history of the tournament (now in its 20th edition) representing all the Italian regions. Club 64 was present at the final with the line-up of Liceo Tassoni of Modena, in the boys' Juniores category. The team was made up of Davide Di Trapani, Riccardo Dionigi, Mattia Simonini and Massimiliano Ballista. The lads finished the tournament in 2nd-6th place, with 10 team points and 15,5 individual points. On tie-break (individual points) the final standings saw them finish the tournament in 6th place (out of 39 teams present). Our representatives came very close to the feat of 2012, when they finished in second place. Congratulations to our lads!
