Great Zimina in Cesenatico. Our youngsters do well too.
A great performance by Olga Zimina at the international tournament in Cesenatico, which has just ended. Olga finished the tournament in fourth place, putting together an International Master-level performance (performance rating of 2423) and leaving no fewer than 2 of the Grandmasters present at the tournament behind her. The only defeat, suffered in the last round against GM Lalic (winner of the event), prevented Zimina from winning the tournament, in which she was in the lead until the eighth round. Notable wins against IM Milan Mrdja and GM Miso Cebalo. The youngsters Davide Di Trapani (performance rating of 2239 and 15th overall) and Riccardo Dionigi (performance rating of 2054 and several Elo points gained) also did very well.
