Great public success at PLAY
Great participation and a huge number of enthusiasts stopped by the Club 64 stand during the traditional two days of PLAY. In particular, the simultaneous exhibition by WGM Olga Zimina attracted many curious onlookers. Olga faced 15 opponents, finishing with 13 wins, one draw and one loss. Congratulations to the very young Isacco Faglioni, who managed the feat of beating the women's national chess team player. Sunday's blitz tournament was won by Master Antonio Lapenna, practically unbeatable at the rapid time control. An excellent second place, just one point behind, for FM Gabriele Franchini. Third overall CM Stefano Baldazzi from Castel San Pietro. Club 64 President Fabrizio Frigieri said a few words to a journalist from the Gazzetta di Modena and a short excerpt of the interview appeared in the Sunday 7 April issue.
