Gabriele Franchini on the arbiting staff of the Budapest First Saturday

Gabriele Franchini, who in January 2013 brilliantly passed the Regional Arbiter exams, has been called directly by organiser Nagy Laszlo to arbitrate the prestigious First Saturday in Budapest. All chess players know the First Saturday closed tournaments well, valid for International Master and Grandmaster norms. A great many champions of absolute world class have played in the tournaments organised by the now famous Nagy Laszlo (Radjabov, Leko, Caruana himself and very many others). Congratulations to Gabriele, who made his debut as an arbiter at the Sassuolo rapid and at the Salsomaggiore international festival, showing excellent skills. We will surely see him soon with the "FIDE" category as an arbiter too, and not only as a player!
