FM Gabriele Franchini back from Budapest and victory in the 6th blitz stage

A triumphant return from Budapest for FM Gabriele Franchini, who earns a mention on the FIDE website for his impeccable arbitrating at the June First Saturday and, just a few hours after returning to Italy, takes the hard-fought 6th blitz stage in Sassuolo (with 9,5 points out of 11). Gabriele has won all 3 of the stages he has taken part in, proving to be a top-level blitz player and particularly suited to the format with the 2-second increment per move. Second overall FM Valerio Luciani from Verona (9/11), half a point ahead of third-placed CM Marco Benincasa. We look forward to seeing many of you at the seventh stage on Thursday 20 June at the Coop Giardino in Cavezzo (MO).
