Club 64 at the Italian rapid chess championships in Fano

A large Club 64 delegation at the national rapid chess championships in Fano, played from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 April. Very good results were achieved, with the Italian women's title for Olga Zimina in the 30-minute tournament. Olga was also crowned Italian vice-champion in the blitz tournament and in the closing rapid. Excellent results in the 30-minute tournament also for FM Franchini (a prestigious draw with Godena for Gabriele in round 2) and CM Frigieri, respectively 2nd and 3rd in the 2000-2200 band. Satisfaction also came from the very young Andrea Becchi and Cesare Wang. Andrea finished 4th in the under 10 of the Rapid tournament and Cesare finished the closing rapid with an astonishing 5 out of 9, becoming Italian absolute vice-champion in the 1600-1800 band.
