National Candidate Arbiter exam

On the same day as the Regional Arbiter examination session, 22 November 2026, the club hosts the exam for the National Candidate Arbiter title: at Coop. Colombofila Centro Est, Via Salvo D'Acquisto 161 in Modena, from 08:00.

The indicative timetable is a written paper from 08:00 to 10:00, results at 14:00 and an oral to follow for those admitted. The syllabus covers the arbiters' sector regulations, the FIDE Laws and their casuistry, the federal technical regulations, the rapid, blitz, CIA, CIS and youth-championship rules, the FIDE rating regulations, the anti-cheating guidelines, the Swiss systems with a pairing done by hand, the accelerated Swiss, tie-breaks, the clock, pairing software and tournament ratification.

Admission requires a valid Regional Arbiter card for the current year, at least two years of practice at the lower grade, the training obligation fulfilled, at least four rapid or blitz tournaments and four FIDE-rated standard tournaments arbitered in the last four years (one of them within the last twelve months), and favourable reports from at least two chief arbiters.
