Walter Paoli is 2025 Provincial Champion!

The 2025 Modena Provincial Championship ended yesterday, valid as a Round of 16 of the 85th Italian Absolute Championship and, as usual, dedicated to the memory of our member and friend Mario Viola.\nThe tournament saw the participation of 30 players and crowned CN Walter Paoli provincial champion, who with 4 points out of 5 is second overall and adds a fourth laurel to those already won in 2009, 2017 and 2020.\nThe tournament is won by 1N Karol Di Pasquale (4.5/5), followed by 2N Christian Sommariva (4.0/5) and CN Marco Vincenzi (4.0/5).\nOf note were the board performances of Di Pasquale, Gucciardo, Sommariva and Vaccari, who recorded Elo coefficients of 1.54, 1.31, 1.29 and 1.27, respectively.\nThe following players qualified for the 2025 Emilia-Romagna Regional Championship: Christian Sommariva, Salvatore Fabio Gucciardo, Jeremy Dillon Perera, Marco Vaccari, Alessandro Togni and Massimo Del Gaiso.\nClub 64 thanks arbiter Lorenzo Rosa for running the tournament and wishes everyone Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year.
