Marco Vincenzi is 2023 Provincial Champion!
The 2023 Modena Provincial Championship ended yesterday, valid as a Round of 16 of the 83rd Italian Absolute Championship and, as usual, dedicated to the memory of our member and friend Mario Viola.
The tournament saw the participation of 23 players and crowned CN Marco Vincenzi provincial champion, who with 4.5 points out of 5 added a sixth laurel to those already won in 2005, 2008, 2012, 2015 and 2022, and was the first player to successfully defend the title won the previous year.
In second place 2N Ottavio Mammi (4.5/5), to whom go our most heartfelt congratulations for having achieved the Prima Nazionale category, followed by CN Samuele Mammi (4/5) and 1N Nicolò Cattaruzzo (3.5/5).
The board performances of Ottavio Mammi and Leonardo De Marco were of prominent note, recording Elo coefficients of 1.11 and 0.92, respectively.
The following players qualified for the 2023 Emilia-Romagna Regional Championship: Ottavio Mammi, Federico Malagò, Andrea Boasso and Marco Vaccari.
