Modena U16 provincial championship

On Sunday 11 March the Modena provincial phase of the Italian under-16 individual chess championship took place in Soliera in the splendid rooms of the Habitat.
There were 49 young chess players, boys and girls, engaged in the conquest of the provincial title in the U8, U10, U12, U14 and U16 categories, 47 from Modena and 2 from Brescia.
Many friends who met up again on Sunday after spending Saturday afternoon together during the chess simultaneous exhibition with Luca Moroni at Club64.

At the end of the day, after the many games played among themselves outside the tournament hall and the 6 rounds played by the U8, U10 and U12 and the 5 rounds of the U14 and U16, the titles of Modena provincial champion went to:

Marchi Matteo, Vittoria Verrelli, Riccardo Mocanu, Borsari Nidia, Samuele Mammi, Maria Vittoria Galli, Luca Ballotti, Anastasia Sfera and Dionis Hodo

Thanks also go to the tournament arbiters: Graziano Ballista, Andrea Vezzelli and Fabrizio Ballotti. The tournament helpers: Antonio Santoro, Silvano Galli and Luca Ricchi. The Soliera councillor for sport Vainer Pacchioni and the A.R.C.I. of Soliera, represented by Ms Pina and her collaborators, where moreover we have opened a chess group that meets every Friday from 17:00 to 19:00.
