Club64 at the XXIII MEMORIAL BERTOLINI International Open

On Sunday 24 June 2018 the XXIII Memorial Bertolini international open, organised by the Circolo Scacchistico U.S. ACLI S. SABINA at the premises of the Municipio Bassa Valbisagno, concluded in Genoa.

Among the 53 registered players there were many high-level players entered in the tournament, which was won on tie-break by IM Basso Pier Luigi with 4.5 pts out of 5, followed on the same score by Ludwig Remi, who beat GM Efimov Igor in the last round, and by FM Gromovs Sergejs on 4 pts.

The small group of Club 64 Modena youngsters, made up of Alessio and Simone Santoro, Riccardo and Roberto Mocanu and Matteo and Luca Ballotti, placed well and at the end of the 5 rounds of 90’ took, with 3.5 pts out of 5, the 1st prize in the band up to 1699 with Roberto Mocanu and the 1st under-16 prize with Luca Ballotti on the same score.

Next were Matteo Ballotti and Simone Santoro with 2 pts, Alessio Santoro with 1.5 pts and Riccardo Mocanu with 1 pt
