Treble for Club 64 at the regional U16 CIS!
In Solignano (Castelvetro) on Sunday 17/9/2017 the Emilia Romagna regional under-16 team chess championship, organised by Club 64 of Modena, was played.
Club 64, thanks to its large youth section, managed to field no fewer than 7 teams in the 3 categories provided: U10, U12, U16. The 44 participating players from Emilia Romagna played a single U16 tournament, very challenging for the youngest
The 3 regional titles at stake go to Club64 with the 3 teams:
-U16 : “I Giandoni del Club 64”” with: Luca Ballotti, Cesare Wang, Enrico Giuntini, Dionis Hodo, Roberto Mocanu and Simone Santoro; who finished the tournament with a perfect score of 12 team pts out of 12 and 23 board pts out of 24.
-U12 : ‘I Saranno famosi del Club 64”” with: Sofia Marinelli, Samuele Mammi, Alberto Vergara and Daniele Lugli with 7 pts
-U10 : “I Piedoni del Club 64”” with: Matteo Ballotti, Silvia Giuntini, Jonian Hodo, Riccardo Mocanu with 4 pts
In addition to the 3 Club 64 teams that won the regional title, the “Pedoni di Ferrara” team, 2nd in the U12 band, also qualifies for the national final of the Under 16 Team Chess Championship scheduled in Scalea(CS) from 2 to 5 November 2017.
The splendid sunny day was supported by the barbecue of the by now expert Marcos Vergara, by the delicious tarts of Sara Franceschi and by the inevitable ‘no borders’ kickabout among all the kids on the adjacent sports field.
Congratulations to the captains of the Club 64 teams, Gian Marco Marinelli and Mattia Sfera, to all the boys and girls of the Club and to all the parents who helped make the regional event a success!
