Modena under-16 provincial championship concluded
The provincial phase of the 30th Italian youth chess championship took place on Sunday 19 March at the G. Marconi school in Castelfranco Emilia.
50 youngsters competed over a whole day among friends, where the 64 squares were simply the backdrop to a large group of friendly families united by their passion for the noble game.
At the end of their respective tournaments the winners, and therefore 2017 provincial champions, were:
Ottavio Mammi, Giulia Gabriella Galli, Matteo Ballotti, Sara Bini Baldi, Alberto Vergara, Sofia Marinelli, Dionis Hodo, Anastasia Sfera and Serena Marseglia
We thank the parents' committee of the G. Marconi school for granting us the use of the hall where we held the tournament and for organising a decent bar service for the players and their companions.
