The 2016 Modena U16 provincial champions

On Sunday 20 March 2016 the Modena provincial phase of the Italian Youth Chess Championship took place at the Guglielmo Marconi primary school in Castelfranco Emilia (MO). Good overall participation in the event, which recorded the presence of 64 young chess players. The provincial champions are: Giulia Gabriella Galli (U8-F), Diego Marchi (U8-M), Silvia Giuntini (U10-F), Alberto Vergara (U10-M), Sofia Marinelli (U12-F), Luca Ballotti (U12-M), Dionis Hodo (U14-M), Serena Marseglia (U16-F) and Isacco Faglioni (U16-M). Thanks to arbiters Luciano Panini, Antonio Sfera, Graziano Ballista and Fabrizio Ballotti and to helpers Gian Marco Marinelli, Mattia Sfera and Luigi Di Trapani for their help and the full success of the event. Heartfelt thanks also to the Castelfranco Parents' Committee. Please note that all youngsters holding at least the Third National category are qualified by right for the national finals. Those who did not manage to qualify for the national final will have another important opportunity at the regional phase in Bentivoglio (BO) on 17 April. Congratulations to all the participants, to the winners and to those qualified for the national final in Olbia (25 June - 2 July).
