Samuele Mammi dominates the Apennine

On Saturday 3 September the 1st Apennine Chess Tournament took place, with Master Sergej Gromovs present as arbiter. The tournament, aimed at spreading the game of chess and its culture, was held in the Town Hall square of the municipality of Castel D'Aiano (BO), with the patronage of the Municipality. A total of 32 players were present: 24 adults and 8 youngsters. A good number of participants, considering the location and the end-of-summer period in which the event was held. First overall with 6.5 points out of 8 was the young Samuele Mammi (born 2006), second Luigi Vanini with 6 points and third on tie-break Massimiliano Piretti with 6 points. Congratulations to the very young Samuele for his great performance from all his friends at Club 64.
