Record numbers at the CERG Bussi memorial

On Saturday 5 March the twelfth edition of the Modena Bussi memorial youth tournament took place in Modena, dedicated as is tradition to the memory of the Modena Master. The tournament coincided with the seventh 2016 stage of the CERG youth circuit of the province of Modena. Record numbers characterised the event, in which a total of no fewer than 126 young chess players (!!!) took part, 115 of them in the tournament reserved for the Emergenti and 11 in the Talenti tournament. Among the Emergenti, this memorable edition of the Bussi was won on tie-break by Olmo Marchi with 5 points, ahead of Diego Marchi (5) and Daniele Garuti (5). The young Talenti tournament was won on tie-break by Dionis Hodo with 4 points, ahead of Sofia Marinelli (4) and Jacopo Lancellotti (3.5). The overall schools and individual standings after the first 7 stages, with only 2 tournaments to go before the end of the circuit, can be consulted on the CERG page of the website.
