Antonio Lapenna and Emma Cassanelli win in Soliera
On Monday 8 August the traditional Soliera summer rapid tournament took place (10 minutes' thinking time each), with prizes in kind and free entry. A tournament reserved for adults and a youth tournament were scheduled. Excellent overall participation considering the summer period in which the event was held. A total of 34 players were present: 27 in the adult tournament and 7 in the youth tournament. Master Antonio Lapenna triumphed in the adult tournament with 5.5 points out of 6. After an excellent tournament, the podium was surprisingly completed by 1Ns Andrea Canali and Walter Maran, both with 5 points in the final standings, ahead of several players of master level. The youth tournament was won by the reigning Italian under 10 champion Emma Cassanelli, who finished with 5 points out of 6. Second on tie-break Diego Marchi (5 points) and third his brother Olmo Marchi (4 points). Thanks to arbiter Graziano Ballista for his punctual direction of the event.
