2016 CERG one stage from the end

On Saturday 9 April the eighth and penultimate stage of the 2016 CERG circuit of the province of Modena took place in Soliera. A total of 26 young chess players were present, 21 of them in the tournament reserved for the Emergenti and 5 in the Talenti tournament. Among the Emergenti, Giovanni Baraldi won on tie-break with 5 points, ahead of David Mazilu (5) and Alessandro Zaniboni (4.5). The young Talenti tournament was won by Sofia Marinelli with 4 points, ahead of Alessandro Angeli (3) and Michael Mottaran (2). The overall schools and individual standings after the first 8 stages, with just one tournament to go before the end of the circuit, can be consulted on the CERG page of the website. The last event of the circuit is on Sunday 24 April in Vignola.
