The 2014 Modena U16 provincial champions
The Modena provincial stage of the Italian youth chess championship was held on Sunday 16 March 2014, at the Laghetto dei Ciliegi in Vignola. There was a slight increase in participation compared with 2013, with 63 participants in total in the tournament. The provincial champions are: Emma Cassanelli (U8-F), Ludovico Carlino (U8-M), Sofia Marinelli (U10-F), Luca Ballotti (U10-M), Gaia Pompeo (U12-F), Elia Venturelli (U12-M), Serena Marsegla (U14-F), Francesco Cioni (U14-M), Anna Mancini (U16-F), Massimiliano Ballista (U16-M). Thanks to arbiters Angelo Mancini, Antonio Sfera and Graziano Ballista and to collaborators Gian Marco Marinelli, Mattia Sfera, Luigi Di Trapani and Carlo Alberto Cavazzoni for the full success of the event. Please remember that all youngsters holding at least the 3N category qualify by right for the nationals. Congratulations to the winners and to those who qualified for the national final.
