FM Luciani dominates the 11th blitz stage and clinches the 2013 circuit

A great influx of players at the eleventh blitz stage in Vignola (at the Laghetto dei Ciliegi), which saw 19 players from all over the province take part. As always the level of the competition was very high too, with several titled players at the starting line. FIDE Master Valerio Luciani from Verona wins the tournament with 9 points out of 10. A thoroughly deserved runner-up spot for CM Marco Vincenzi, a regular on the circuit, who finished with 7.5 points. Third on tie-break FM Gabriele Franchini. With this win FM Luciani mathematically secures overall victory in the 2013 blitz circuit. An empty car boot is recommended for transporting the prosciutto that will be handed to him during the final prize-giving. By playing the last scheduled tournament FM Gabriele Franchini will secure 2nd place overall, and CM Marco Benincasa should be safe for the 3rd step of the final podium.
